What to do if the Surgery is closed

If you need a doctor URGENTLY when the surgery is closed at lunchtime (12 noon-2pm), during the night, weekends or bank holidays, you should either ring the usual surgery number of 020 8680 2588 and listen to the recorded message, or ring 111.

From 1 April 2017, people who live in and work in Croydon have access to a wide range of urgent care services including booked appointments with a GP available from 8am to 8pm, seven days a week across three new GP Hubs.

To find the best care for you:

Download the free Health Help Now app or visit www.healthhelpnow.nhs.uk

Or Phone NHS 111 before you go (Free to phone from landlines or mobiles)

Pharmacists

At Parkside we have always supported our Pharmacy colleagues who are experts in medicines, how they work and what conditions they treat. We are delighted to inform our patients about the Pharmacy Minor Ailments Scheme which offers Croydon residents access to medicines, health advice and treatment from their local pharmacy without requiring any prescriptions or vouchers.

To take part in the scheme, simply go to your local Pharmacy and ask the Pharmacist for medication under the Minor Ailments Scheme.

Pharmacists are able to provide you with medicines for minor conditions free of charge if you are normally exempt from prescription charges. If you are not exempt from prescription charges, you will pay the normal over-the counter charge to the pharmacy. Minor Ailments covered include:

Diarrhoea Mouth Ulcers
Hay Fever Sprains
Headlice Sore throat
Indigestion/heartburn Teething
Insect bites and stings    Vaginal Thrush

Of course, the pharmacist can also refer you back to your GP if more treatment or investigation is required.
